Fifth Avenue....Here For You

Hey there.  I made the background paper for this card by using 2 pieces of photo paper, 4 colors of glimmer mist and a brayer :) Then I had seen the Color Challenge over at Stamping 411 (Color Inspiration #153) which was Old Olive, Pretty in Pink and Night of Navy. I usually really struggle with even the thought of a color challenge but I figured I should get out of the box I was hiding in and boy am I happy with the results. I also paired this with the Paper Players Challenge #40 which was a sketch challenge.

I stamped the Fifth Avenue Flowers onto vellum with Stazon Ink and then colored the backside of them with my Copics....really trying to stick to the color palette chosen. I backed them with some white cardstock just to make the colors stand out from the colored photo paper. The sentiment is from Occasional Quotes (a SU Hostess set). I am super shocked that there is not 1 piece of ribbon as that would also be my usual M.O.

Thanks for stopping by :)                                                            Jessie

I love what you did with the glimmer mists and brayer! Really fabulous technique. It works so well as a background to the 5th avenue set. Gorgeous card and a fabulous take on the sketch.

So pretty, Jessie! Love the technique you used with the vellum. The glimmer mist background paper is a very rich and elegant touch. The sentiment on the banner is a nice touch, too. Wonderful take on the sketch. So glad you played along with us at The Paper Players this week! :)
