Inspired by a few challenges...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was nice and quiet which was nice as our lives are about to get a tad bit busier for the next few weeks. We are now upon fishing season and my husband and I tournament fish...so here's hoping to a great fishing season.

Anyways, I was inspired by a few challenges this week (which is not so normal for me- usually I tend to stick to 1 or maybe 2 at most per project). So I did quite a bit of coloring and layering and I am loving the bling added this week:) It cheered me up right away ;)

The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and was colored with my E50 copic marker, paper is all from My Mind's Eye (an old pack I had in my stash), pearls are from Prima, Stamps are from Totally Stampalicious and sentiment stamp is from Stampin Up as well as the background stamp, crochet trim is from the local dollar store, punch is from Stampin Up, ink: Copics, Tuxedo Black and Desert Sand from Memento, Chocolate Chip from Stampin Up. I also used the Bow Easy Tool that I purchased from RRR.

I have entered this card at the following challenges:

- Please check them out...they are super fun. Thanks for stopping by once again and hope to see you again soon,

Jessie

p.s . Sorry for the lack of comments from me- Blogger is being a bit unsual for me again....grrrrrrr.....breathe ;)  Have a great week!

Here For You....

Well Happy Monday...I hope your week has started out wonderfully. I had a great weekend with Jeff and the Kids- really reminding me how grateful I should be for being a Mom. I lost my Mom when I was in my teens and I am often reminded to really cherish every moment I have with Kyle and Kayla.

Anyways, tonight I made a card for The Friday Mashup! Mashup #5 Embossing Nature. I went with an emboss resist technique using both Ink and a combination of Glimmer Mist and Glimmer Glaze.

Stamps: Friends 24-7   SU
CS: all SU
DP: Page taken from a book that was picked up at a Flea Market for $1.00 :)
Other: Copper Mini Brads, Clear Embossing Powder, SU Vanilla Seam Binding (sprayed to match with Mustard Seed and Waterfall Glimmer Mist)
Ink: VersaMark, Chocolate Chip, Glimmer Mist (approx. 6 different colors), Waterfall Glimmer Glaze, Desert Sand- Momento, Aged Mahogany- TH Distress Inks

I really believe a person could also use the Smooch Spritz or any other colored spray to achieve this look.

All I did was emboss the images on the print page with the VersaMark Ink and Clear Embossing Powder. Then I went ahead and added a small amount of the Glimmer Glaze (which will also act like an emboss resist to the Glimmer Mist) to the area around the flourish edge that was also clear embossed and then continued on to spritz it all up until I was happy with the colors. When that was completed during I went ahead and used a SU Sponge to highlight the bird image with Chocolate Chip Ink. And I finished it all off with the Seam Binding that I sprayed to match. * I did speed up all the drying time using a heat gun from SU*

This is definitely a new look for me and I'm not even sure how it came about....all I knew was I wanted to do a Nature Embossed Resist card.

Hope you enjoyed it and we'll see you again soon,                                              Jessie

Happy May!

Happy Monday! I know we will be having another busy week at our house. It all starts with the dentist tomorrow (an hour away), a trip to Grande Prairie for work (another 3.5 hours away) and our daughter getting ready for Ukrainian Dancing Performance- they are doing a welcome dance for the Shumka Dance Group on Saturday (also our Town's 100th Centennial Anniversary). But I'm sure fun will be had by all...all week long;)

Anyways, I made this card for Challenge #54 over at A La Card Monkey- its a pretty neat sketch this week. I definitely enjoyed it.

DP: Elegant Soiree-SU
CS: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip- SU
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky (I lightly sponged on some soft clouds behind the bird)
Punch: Two-step Bird- SU
Other: Very Vanilla Seam Binding-SU;  Baha Breeze Courduroy Button Brad-SU (which I won with some blog candy over at A La Card Monkey)

And there is no stamping...not sure where that came from...I don't think I've ever made a card without stamping on it:)

I've also gone ahead and posted this card over at The Paper Player's: Challenge #45

Thanks for stopping by :)                         Jessie

Celebrate.....Kayla's 10th!

Hey there, I sure hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I just wanted to share with you this layout I did for my daughter Kayla's 10th Birthday Party. She used to be one of those girly, girly love only pink type of girls but in the last year or so her color horizons have dramatically increased...lol. Anyways, I used a lot of lime greens and teals as those are her most up to date favorites...I believe she calls them epic;)

DP: Hoopla-Glitz Designs
CS: Bazzill
Ribbon: RRR
Other: Glitzers - Glitz Designs

The challenge over on Really Reasonable Ribbon's Blog is Challenge #23- Double Dutch...to use two ribbons, lace or trims on your projects and as you can see I did indeed use 2 different types of ribbon on this layout. (By the way...I loved my first shipment of ribbon I received from them that I just had to order more....I love being a ribbon addict).

So I hope you enjoyed the layout and here's wishing you have a most marvelous week!

Thanks for stopping by,                                Jessie
