Glitz Designs meets Mojo Monday...

Hey there, thanks for stopping by. I just have a quick post today. I was prompted to make a card for a Wedding Shower and had no Mojo (I found out my Step- Dad had passed away a couple of days ago)....but I found some over at Mojo Monday Sketch Blog. I really didn't feel like stamping a whole lot so the Laced with Grace Collection from Glitz Designs was just perfect....and so I made 2 cards with it.

I started off with a couple of layers of Bazzill Cardstock and a piece from the Glitz Paper Layers Pkg. (just so perfect for cards). Then I stamped the sentiment from there Sincere Salutations stamp set from SU in Chocolate Chip ink (which I also used for all of the sponging I did). I then finished the card off with some Seam Binding from RRR and a few punched butterflies.

 Have a great weekend,

Jessie

Sunshine and cQc#90!

Happy Wednesday :) I wouldn't normally wish you a happy Wednesday but it is absolutely gorgeous out- which here in Alberta the weather hasn't exactly been the nicest....so I'm just taking advantage of it while I can ;)

Anyways, I decided to try my hand at a color challenge (over @ the colorQ challenge blog). I haven't tried many color challenges so this is a bit of out of my comfort zone- although I am quite please with how it turned out.

Hope you like it and thanks a bunch for stopping by,

Jessie

Happy 30th!

Hi all, hope you're having a wonderful weekend. I know our has been spent with tons of family; 1st we had a birthday party for my Nephew who turned 1 and also for my baby sister who turned the big 3-0!; then today we had a wonderful family BBQ with the my hubby's family; then topped it all off by stopping by to visit my Hubby's other Grandpa to wish him a Happy Father's Day (and we got to visit with even more family on that stop) - to top it all off my Husband's phone (who is always on-call for work) was somewhat quiet so we got in a lot of family time with him as well.

Today I have the card I made for my Sister and I hope you like it- I think it's another fun card.

A bit of color...

Hi there. Hope your weather is nice, sunny and warm. We have been getting nothing but rain for what seems like days and days.

Anyways, I made this card for my Nephew's 1st Birthday. I thought I would try my hand at a Center Step Card (which was my first...and I usually only make your standard 4.5 X 5.5" cards). It was really a lot of fun and embellishing it was an absolute blast.

Recipe:
stamps: Cupcake Phillip and Sugar Plums bench- C.C Designs
ink: Memento, Copics
paper: Dino-Roar line- Imaginisce
other; Tim Holtz Film Strip Ribbon, Assorted Buttons and Grommets, Twine, Brass Mini Brads, Punch- SU

I decided that little Phillip looked a little out of place sitting on a bench in the middle of nowhere so I thought I would add some grass and sky to the image panel with my Copics. I think he looks a little more natural now ;)

Guest Designer Monkey59: Vintage & Sketch

Happy Friday all! So the Ladies over at the A La Card Monkey Challenge Blog have asked me to be a guest designer for their current challenge: Vintage (oh, did I mention vintage is my favorite?).

I had a great time making this card. I colored the image from SU with my Copic Markers and then went over it with UTEE. And WOW what great stuff....this was my first attempt using Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel and boy is it ever awesome and so super nice to work with. Although it took me a bit to get used to the thickness of it (it's about the same coarseness as extra fine beads) and other than that you treat as regular embossing powder. After I applied 3 layers of the UTEE I let it cool then I cracked it by bending the image panel, then I just rubbed a bit of Rich Cocoa ink into the cracks.

stamps: Elements of Style- SU
ink: Copics, Rich Cocoa- Memento, Timber Brown- Stazon
Flower and Pearls- Prima
other: lace ribbon, 1 cream and 1 old  antique button
dsp: Glitz Design
cs: Bazzill, Bazzill Vanilla Smooth (for the image/ copic coloring)

So, I hope you'll pop on over to the A La Card Monkey Blog and play along. They also have candy ;)
