Fifth Avenue....Here For You

Hey there.  I made the background paper for this card by using 2 pieces of photo paper, 4 colors of glimmer mist and a brayer :) Then I had seen the Color Challenge over at Stamping 411 (Color Inspiration #153) which was Old Olive, Pretty in Pink and Night of Navy. I usually really struggle with even the thought of a color challenge but I figured I should get out of the box I was hiding in and boy am I happy with the results. I also paired this with the Paper Players Challenge #40 which was a sketch challenge.

I stamped the Fifth Avenue Flowers onto vellum with Stazon Ink and then colored the backside of them with my Copics....really trying to stick to the color palette chosen. I backed them with some white cardstock just to make the colors stand out from the colored photo paper. The sentiment is from Occasional Quotes (a SU Hostess set). I am super shocked that there is not 1 piece of ribbon as that would also be my usual M.O.

Mornings aren't Meant for Me....

Hey there. So yesterday when I was making the Glam Kitty card for the Totally Stampalicious Challenge of PieRcing for some reason I read "PieCing"...lol; I think I am a bit tired and in need of a break. But when I came home from work tonight I stopped at the mailbox and imagine my surprise when the stamp sets I ordered from their new release were in......Yippee! When I first seen this stamp set I have to tell you it was like it was talking about me:) So I have made this card to put up on my desk at work; I have plans to make a cube of some sort so I can flip it to a different saying on any given day....according to how my day is going. I hope you like it (I used alot of white space which I almost never do).

Take Care,
Jessie

Glam Kitty......

So I was taking part in Totally Stampalicious' Blog Hop the other day and I was chosen to receive a gift certificate for my participation- How Awesome is that...Thank-you so much ladies. Anyways, they also posted a Paper PieRcing Challenge so I thought I would take part in that as well. But then I had this great idea that I should watch "Burlesque" while making my card and well I think that's maybe where I got the inspiration for the rest of the card. It really was a fun one to make and I'm sure my daughter will be totally surprised that I made 2 bright cards in a row....lol.

So I kind of ran into some fun while I was coloring her hair- the colors just didn't blend the way I wanted them to but I went ahead and tried something (I hadn't even read about it anywhere). I used my 0.35 Black Multiliner to draw in some lines for definition and then I went ahead and streaked her hair with 4 different colors and voila....the look I wanted in the first place (I must admit I was a bit please with myself and how well it turned out after all). Here is a close up of my coloring.

I have posted this card over at iCopic Lover: Challenge   (wicked colors this week....hehe)

Supplies: Copics; cs- Bazzill; dp- Love Nest by Glitz Design as well as the Tulle; Memento Rich Cocoa Ink; Bling- Prima, Bazzill, Swaroski Crystal Heart; unknown rubber ribbon; 3D Foam Squares...lots of them :)

Well I hope you like the card.........Please feel free to leave a comment (I really do like the feedback) :)

Magic Happens!

Hi there, thanks for stopping by. I made this card for my Daughter's 10th Birthday and she loves blues and greens right now. Plus she told me that my cards have been boring and Not Bright! lol. So I have used Magic Happens stamp set from Kaisercraft, paper from Scenic Route (Jenni Bowlin paper inside) and Bazzill. This is the first time I have drawn my own background, I really thought the little fairy looked very lonely all by herself. I took total inspiration for the background from Marianne Walker's Blog- I Like Markers.........so many thanks to her (she is uber talented).

I used so many Copic colors that I totally lost track (there must have been at least 40)....lol. I also used my Copic Spica pens to add sparkles to the wings and to the dress. I am going to try doing backgrounds more often, I found it a total challenge.

I am posting this card at the following challenges:

I hope you like it :)                           Thanks for stopping by,                        Jessie

Stamping 411 Challenge

Thanks for stopping by, its just a super quick post today :)    So I seen a sketch over at the Stamping 411 Blog (via Always Playing With Paper - link on the side bar) Saturday Sketch Challenge #194 and was a tad bit overwhelmed and really not knowing what I should do with it. But I did know that I wasn't up to using squares -and that's where the circles came in :) . So here's my take on the sketch.

The very vague ingredients: Elements of Style, Copics, Memento Ink

Hope you like it and I'll see you soon,

Jess

Elements of Style!

Hey there, so I found a challenge blog that was based on a sketch and I usually don't do sketch challenges but this was a really awesome sketch that I would never have tried before.

The challenge Blog is "Just Us Girls" or......JUGS    :)  and the challenge is JUGS74

I used the Elements of style set from SU, Rich Cocoa Memento ink, Timber Brown Stazon ink, the paper is a couple years old I believe (but you know how you stash all the supplies you love and may use one day...lol) it is from MME -Bella Bella line. I did all the coloring with my Copics- E01, E42, E43, E50, YG91, YG95, W1 and W3. I hope you like it :)

.......and I will find my camera within the next couple of days so I can take some descent photos.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jessie

Edson for Hockeyville!

So I had to run into work last night (it was about 8:30 pm) when my daughter asks me if I can pick her up some Oiler Tattoos or Stickers.....grrrr. Anyways, I figured I would try to make her some thing, as there was a parade in town today having to do with Edson competing to become Kraft's Hockeyville. If we win we get an NHL Game and $750,000.00 for arena upgrades. So while I was at work I printed out a bunch of the Oiler's Logo so I could do something when I got home. So I slipper the logo sheets into page protectors and got to work with my Crop-a-Dile and some SU Brads and a couple different types of ribbon.....voila an Oiler's skirt (I would liken it to a grass skirt). Then I have some Prima Headbands and some Glimmermist which aided greatly in my quest to create an Oiler's Headband. And I must say this made for a very happy 9 year old 1st thing this am (mind you I am beat as I stayed up late getting it done).

I hope you like it (and sorry for the bad photos, I just grabbed my phone to snap a couple quick pics right before we left the house). See you soon :)

Welcome to my new blog!

Welcome to my new blog. I really just wanted to start anew after the closing of Funked Up Crafts, so here we are :)

I was inspired to make this card when I saw this ONE. I just loved the layout, the colors, well just everything- it just seemed so perfect for the Nature Walk stamp set. And since I've been somewhat in a creative rut lately I thought why not find some inspiration out there. When I couldn't find anything on SCS for the "Nature Walk" set I went to Google and found this other SU Only site - and WOW do they ever have some nice stuff in their gallery.

stamps: Nature Walk - SU
cardstock:  Kiwi Kiss -SU; Ivory- Bazzill Simply Smooth; Kraft card base/ brown cardstock -unknown
dsp: Specialty Designer Paper- SU
ink: Desert Sand, Rich Cocoa, Pear Tart - Memento
embellishments:  Button - a random antique store; Very Vanilla Seam Binding- SU

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Jessie
